Mary Kay’s new collections recently came my way and there are some great products that I put to the test.
The blushes caught my attention the moment I got to receive the parcels! Not only is the packaging super cute (I love anything heart-shaped) but the colors looked amazing. I am going to split the review into 3 for the products as they are all very different.
I started playing with these blushes over the past few weeks and in all honesty, I find myself reaching for them almost daily. The blushes came in 2 shades and both are so versatile and highly pigmented (go in with a light hand)
Baked Cheek Powder in “ Giving Heart”
This blush is the darker of the two. In the cute heart-shaped compact is a beautiful Rosy pink that has a slight metallic shimmer. The giving heart color is also the most pigmented so be careful with the amount on your brush. I found this blush to be beyond gorgeous but I will say it’s almost too dark for my fair skin ( I have to be very light-handed) but this would be beyond gorgeous on my medium to dark-skinned beauties. I tone it down slightly by mixing the two.
Baked cheek powder in “ Kind Heart”
This beautiful blush is my favorite of the two it’s a stunning peachy pink color with a bit of a gold metallic sheen to it. I found this blush to work beautifully both day and night. The pigmentation is not as full on as the giving heart one but the gold shimmer is everything. This blush goes gorgeously with light to medium skin colors but I think if you wanted to build it up you could wear this on darker skin. Now you know I am obsessed with all things rose gold and that’s what this reminds me of in a blush a coral rose gold.
Overall I enjoyed these blushes, my favorite color is actually when I combine the two. I use giving heart first and then layer kind heart over top.
Downside:
They argue and have a little quarrel, but nothing serious. I think everything from the black packaging to the heart-shaped pans is really cute. The compacts do not have a mirror but I don’t take blush on the go anyways so this is not a downside for me.
Each blush contains .23oz or 6.5g of product and They will retail at $23 CDN each. These brushes inside the product are part of Mary kays beauty projects They are limited edition and $2 of the purchase price of this product will go towards organizations dedicated to helping women live with cancer and helping put an end to domestic violence among women. I think it’s great to see beauty companies giving back and trying to make the world a more inclusive place.
These blushes can be purchased at Mary Kay Canada’s website. Both blushes will be launching very soon!
I hope you enjoyed this review! What are your favorite blushes?
